Work Around Terrible NBC Olympic Coverage…at last!

Date August 18, 2008

In the words of Just South of the Dot blog “I HATE YOU NBC. I. HATE. YOU.”

Then Mike shows exactly how to get around their inane obsession with Beach Volleyball. Is it entertaining? A little. Olympic? Not really. Especially when you show BV instead of ancient tradtions like Hammer and Pentathlon. Some of us suspect a payoff from corporate sponsors.

Anyway Mike found this BRILLIANT work around NBC’s abysmal coverage on this post. Here are his instructions:

If you’re reading this, and you’re interested in watching other TV feeds on your computer…
1- Right click HERE (open in new window)
2- Click on the TV image in the middle of the webpage. You need a PC or for mac you have to use Firefox with Flip4Mac installed - which is free (but restart Firefox afterwards).
3- A new window will open with the TV tuner. Look at the top bar.
4- Switch the upper left drop down to your screen resolution
5- Switch the category to SPORT TV
6- Pick your channel on the right! (the Denmark Beijing 1 is pretty pure)
7- Press PLAY (the triangle)

and then… you’re over the pit of despair!

Stumble it!

No go for me. Flip4Mac usually works for everything, but I only get a box saying that you need an Intel Mac to view video. Must be some other trick to get it to play on an older PPC Mac.
