Let's hope everyone who hears about Frank Harmon's winning design will recognize it as a major step forward for the City of Raleigh and AIA/North Carolina. A totally "green" building -- geothermal wells, vegetated roof, rainwater collection roof and cisterns, native landcaping, porous pavers in the parking "garden," regionally appropriate and locally available materials -- in the middle of downtown Raleigh? That's HUGE. It could set a precedent for future building downtown and elsewhere. And you're absolutely right: what a wonderfully warm addition to the empty, barren government complex. I, for one, couldn't be happier! You rock, Frank!
